The 2014 Nautic SUP Paris Crossing took place on Sunday, December 6th as the Paris Salon Nautique was unraveling.
More than 400 participants registered for the race with 70 professional riders and 330 amateurs. The starting whistle resonated on this cold Parisian morning and as the sun was rising, this enthusiastic crowd attacked the Seine River with their paddle.
The Nahskwell brand was well represented with the team Valerie and Gregoire Vitry were riding the BeachComp Carbone 25” and 27” the Breton Joseph Gueguen and Sylvain Hernigou were racing on the Scow Carbone and many amateurs present for the race were standing on Nahskwell’ boards.
Valerie finished third with her BeachComp 25” (47th on the mix pro men/women) with tough competition, behind Celine Guesdon and Joanne Hamilton-Vale.
Joseph applied his coach’s advices (Renaud Noyelle who unfortunately could not participate in this race) and sped up to grab the 7th place, a great accomplishment for this international high level race.
Greg ended up with the 22nd place, a nice finish considering the riding quality of the contestants, and more importantly, in front of his old racing friends. He wished the race could have been a little longer, he was sure to get ahead a few more spots as he was so confortable on his BeachComp 27”.
A “grand bravo” to all our riders for your commitment and performances and thank you to all the people who trusted Nahskwell boards for this great race.
